THE MOTH PRINCESS
inspired by Puccini’s opera Turandot

Designed for school children and families, this interactive opera was inspired by Turandot, Giacomo Puccini’s great masterpiece. Children participating from their seats in the audience will use props and sing in Italian, Arabic and English. Imprisoned in her cocoon, the Moth Princess represents Turandot who is trapped by her vengeful hatred of men. Through the love of Prince Calaf, the humanity of his father and the sacrificial goodness of the slave, Liù, the Moth Princess will emerge as a butterfly.
