Bianca Deigner
costume designer

Bianca Deigner was born in Munich. After graduating, she pursued her studies at the Brigitte Kehrer Vocational School for Fashion in Stuttgart. Upon graduating in 2002, she joined the Stuttgarter Staatstheater, where she worked as a full-time costume assistant.

 

Since 2006, Bianca has been working as costume designer, collaborating with theatres and opera houses across Europe.

 

Recent engagements have taken her to the Norwegian National Opera in Oslo for The Turn of the Screw, as well as to Det Norske Teatret for productions of Caligula and The Neverending Story. She worked on all three productions in close collaboration with director Peer Perez Øian.

 

Her portfolio also includes costume design for Così fan tutte at the Frankfurt Opera (directed by Mariame Clément), Cabaret at the Residenztheater München (directed by Claus Guth), and Freitag aus Licht by Karlheinz Stockhausen at the Opéra de Lille, a co-production with the Philharmonie de Paris, directed by Silvia Costa. She also designed costumes for Carmen at the Theater Münster, directed by Andrea Schwalbach.

 

Bianca maintains a long-standing collaboration with director Enrico Lübbe, which has led to numerous productions, including Geschichten aus dem Wienerwald at the Berliner Ensemble, the German premiere of Orestes at the Hanover Staatsoper, and several productions at the Schauspiel Leipzig, such as Revolutionary Road, Die Maßnahme / Die Perser, Das kalte Herz, Winterreise, Mein Freund Harvey, and Woyzeck. She also collaborated on Elektra at the Bonn Opera.
