Born in Schleswig-Holstein, from 1997 to 2001 he studied stage design with Erich Wonder at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.
From 2001 to 2003 he was a lecturer at the Scenography class at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.
In 2001 he started designing set in drama and opera productions and worked at San Francisco War Memorial Opera, Berlin Deutsches Theater, Theater in Würzburg, and Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna.
Productions worthwhile mentioning include set, costumes and video for the Korean premiere of Urfaust at the Myeongdong Theater Seoul (2011), Die Gezeichneten by Franz Schreker at Opera de Lyon (2014), Idomeneo in Opera Vlaanderen of Antwerp (2016), Die Frau ohne Schatten in Linz (2017), furthermore costumes for Die tote Stadt in Dresden (2017) and set and video for Alcina and Cosi fan tutte at Grand Theatre de Genève (2017).
Since 2009 he collaborates regularly with director David Bösch.
He designs productions such as L'Elisir d'amore, Mitridate, The Cunning Little Vixen and L'Orfeo (costumes), Idomeneo re di Creta at the Opera Vlaanderen, Antwerp and Ghent (sets, costumes and video), Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg (video), Solaris (sets, costumes and video) at Landestheater Linz and Saarbrücken, Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin (costumes), Henry VI & Margaretha di Napoli at Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf, Irrelohe by Franz Schreker (set design + video) at Opera de Lyon, Andorra at Schauspiel Frankfurt and Manon at Oper Hamburg.
He has worked with director Hermann Schneider (Winterreise, Tristan und Isolde, Faust, Fidelio and others) and with the Berlin author, film and opera director Axel Ranisch (Orlando Paladino, Jolanta, Rigoletto).
He is lecturer at the Institute for Make-up at the Munich Theater Academy August Everding with Prof. Verena Effenberg.
