Theatre and opera director Dominique Pitoiset founded his company with Nadia Fabrizio in 1988. 

He directed the Dijon National Theatre from 1996 to 2000. In 2000, he was appointed Director of Théâtre National de Chaillot, before becoming, in 2001, associated director at the Teatro Due of Parma and the Teatro Stabile of Turin where he created the trilogy of Shakespeare (Otello, Macbeth and The Tempest). 

From 2004 to 2013 he was Director of the Théâtre National Bordeaux Aquitaine. During those years he also directed many productions. 

He teaches staging and set design at the University Institute of Architecture in Venice.

In 2009, he began a cycle on the North American theatre with Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf by Edward Albee and Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller. His last production in Bordeaux was Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand which toured all over France and was presented during a month at Théâtre Odeon in Paris.

In 2017 in collaboration with the actor Patrick Timsit he directed Le Livre de ma mère by Alert Cohen. 

 

In opera he directed Falstaff (Opera de Paris, revived several times, lastly in 2017), Didone ed Enea, Cosi fan tutte (Atelier Lyrique, Opera de Paris and Théâtre de Suresnes Jean Vilar), L’isola disabitata (Atelier Lyrique, Opera de Paris), Macbeth (Teatro Reggio di Parma), La Boheme (Theatre du Capitole, Toulouse), Salome (Opera de Bordeaux), Orphée et Eurydice (Atelier Lyrique, Opera de Paris), The Turn Of The Screw (Opera de Bordeaux and Tournée), L’homme qui prenait sa femme pour un chapeaux (Opera de Lyon).
